"God is plain for those who have a heart to know Him"

So, the other day I was out with friends and needed to go to the restroom. I walked myself into a bookstore and asked to use their public bathroom. Well, after getting a terrible look of distrust (gee… not like I was asking for her first born child!) the woman finally told me I needed “something” in order to have entry. Of course I have stopped at enough gas stations in my life that I imagined I would be handed some key connected to a chain that was dangling a board 40 times bigger than the key. But no, instead I was handed a small paper with a several numbers on it and was promptly told it was the “secret code”. Wow…. how special! I’ve been given “The Secret Code” just so I could go potty! It felt kind of like when we were kids and learned the secret language of pig-latin or knew the secret handshake or the right password to join the club.

 

Romans 1:19-20: “…because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”

 

 

We each need to be very aware of any person…or any book (even those on the best selling list) that claims they have the secret way into new and deeper spirituality. We need to be careful of any hype from one who suggests there is a new “buzz” going around for a new kind of spirituality. That is the lie from the enemy. God’s wrath will go against those for their lies and distortions of the truth. There is nothing new on earth. God is the same yesterday and today, and He has made Himself plain to all so that there is no excuse. There is one way to Heaven and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ. Although there are mysteries to the Omnipresent God, for sure- He has made Himself plain enough for someone with the heart of a child to find Him. His beauty is manifested throughout all creation and has been made known to all generations. One needs only to see the delicate balance and order of things to see God in creation.

There is no need to know any special handshake, code or language to enter heaven and live forever in eternity with the Lord. You just need a heart that has repented and asked the Savior Jesus Christ to come and dwell in that heart. This offer is open to all and you can speak it out in your own language, using your own words, anytime of day or night, no matter where you are or where you’ve been. Christ has been waiting to have an intimate relationship with you. Won’t you come, just as you are and receive the free gift of His salvation? Come with a simple need and simple heart.

May it be our desire that we be women who live in the present and are aware of the world around us. May we take notice of the blessings God gifts to each of us, and always long to hear His whispers. Shall we also pray with a more purposeful focus on God’s will? And as we stay connected in our relationship with Christ, we will become more thankful followers. Let us commit to doing this together!
