We have many songs about walking: “Gonna’ Walk All Over You”, “Walk Like An Egyptian”, “Walk On By”, “We Can Walk The Line”, and “Walkin’ In Memphis”. Hmm, I don’t believe we’d want to use any of these as good examples for the Christian walk.

In the three short years of Jesus' ministry, He fulfilled so many wonderful examples of how we can live out our lives for the glory of God. We saw the ways He interacted with people and walked close to His Father. He gave a perfect model for each of us to follow, yet is still open and spontaneous to where the Father would lead and guide us.

~ We just need to keep our focus on Jesus~

*We can trust like Christ did, by resting in the storms that crash into our world, trying to blow us out of the water.

*When we think we are too busy, Jesus shows us the importance of getting away for a time of prayer, especially in preparation for a long day.

*The Lord taught us to accept people “where they are” (spiritually, emotionally, and physically), maybe by the water well, or late at night in secret, on a public road, or even at the home of one who is grieving over a loved one who has just died.

*The Son of Man exhibited humility by allowing all the children to come into His gentle, patient, and welcoming arms and by washing the feet of others.

*He encourages us to laugh more and enjoy our meals with dear friends. If a friend has turned their back on us or hurt us in any way, He tells us to go seek them out and to make peace with them. Then we are to display forgiveness to them and break bread in unity and communion.

*Jesus demonstrated to us the need to pray with a godly sorrow for the lost, the obstinate, the hurting, and the needy. We are to share the Good News with the world around us, for that is why we are still left here.

*He also revealed to us how to pray the Father’s will when we would rather have the cup pass us by. But to surrender fully to whatever God has for us, is to know that we help advance the Lord’s Kingdom and learn faith, trust and dependency.

*Most of all, The Lamb of God has made it clear to each weary soul, that we are to look up and act upon the truth as we see Him sitting upon the Throne in Heaven saying to us, “It is finished. I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and Last. I have come to make all things new. I give the fountain of life freely to those who thirst and those who overcome will inherit all things. I will be their God and they will be My children.” (Revelation 21:5-7 paraphrased).

I know when I’m overtired, weary, or afraid, I have to remember Jesus has overcome this world. He is sitting on the throne, not pacing the heavenly halls all freaked out wondering if I am going to do okay down here on earth. We have not been left here by ourselves. He is with us now and He is preparing our true home in Heaven. I can walk like Christ, because I walk with Christ!

Lord, take our hand in Yours as we stroll this earth, and teach us to walk in the cool of the day with You. Keep us humble so we would never hold on to any kind of pride. Help us demonstrate Your heart. Shape our earthly vessels to walk worthy of Your calling on our lives, by helping us to walk in wisdom, truth and much grace. Amen.

Here I Am Lord…

Here I am Lord, passionately waiting for You-
with hands reaching up towards the Heavens and arms out stretched;
prepared to receive all that I can have from You.
My path and direction are Yours…
with my heart open and soul hungry, my spirit stays attentive to Your will.

Use this servant for Your delight…
for my only purpose is to follow Your design.
My faith remains fixed and grounded in the Word of Your truth.
Send me.

May it be our desire that we be women who live in the present and are aware of the world around us. May we take notice of the blessings God gifts to each of us, and always long to hear His whispers. Shall we also pray with a more purposeful focus on God’s will? And as we stay connected in our relationship with Christ, we will become more thankful followers. Let us commit to doing this together! Close your eyes…Open your heart, let God’s Spirit empower you today.
