"Beauty"

All eyes are on the couple standing under a canopy of flowers. The beautiful veiled woman surrounded by a cloud of white taffeta. Next to her stands her handsome future husband in black tuxedo- A wedding moment surely to be treasured. When daydreaming of royal weddings, does your imagination take you to Monaco for princess Grace and Prince Rainer, or do you think more of England’s Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles? There is such great anticipation and love for those who are about to wed.

Yellow Lily Flower "The King desires your beauty" Psalm 45:11

This messianic psalm points to Christ (our King) coming back for His bride (the church). He is enthralled by how lovely we are. Jesus has made each of us beautiful for Himself. By the blood of the Lamb (His sacrifice atoned for our sins), we shall all wear white and washed garments. We stand in pure purity before the Father because He sees us “in” Christ. To know that I stand in pure purity knowing the things I’ve done causes me to fall on my knees with such a thankful gratitude. What words could really ever express such gratitude…such a love? Our way to give God a big thank you is by the way we choose to live today and tomorrow. We can shine His light of truth. We can pour out His grace to all, be forgiving and hold our tongue when it wants to say something ugly about someone. There are so many ways we can prepare ourselves for His coming. Everyday is a new day to begin again, to start new and fresh as we wait to be taken to the banquet table in heaven where Jesus has been preparing a royal feast for His bride. (That’s us!)

The King desires your beauty. Desire in Hebrew language of the Old Testament means: waits, longingly, sigh, greedy, prefers. Did you know that? Do you feel that? Do you accept such a love? You can’t give to others what you will not accept for yourself. Not truly, not fully. If you woke up each and every morning and before you put your feet on the floor, you acknowledged and believed that Jesus is enthralled by your beauty, how would your life differ? I know most of us probably don’t feel our loveliest first thing in the morning, at least until we’ve showered, brushed our teeth and hair…oh, and maybe had that first sip of coffee. BUT, the absolutely crazy thing is…we are lovely to Jesus (morning/noon/night and all the times in between). Wow, God’s ways really aren’t our ways, are they? Not only are you lovely to Him but so are all His other children, so start seeing the beauty in others too.

Take time today, do it now, hear these words. The Lord cherishes YOU! The Lord chose you just the way you are. He created you and redeemed you. If you can’t feel that or don’t know that, set your eyes back to the garden of Gethsemane. See the struggle of will that went on and be astounded that for the joy set before Him. He chose the nails, just for you. You are His joy! Now go and live your life as one big “thank you” to Him.

BEAUTIFUL

When I find myself trapped in the web that tries to snare me
into what I believe about myself or what I allow others to assume about me---
these lies softly tumble and fall to the wayside
as I spend precious moments standing in the Presence of my Lord and God.

In this time, these holy moments of silent fellowship,
I am able to know that I am His. I am a beautiful perfect beloved child, created
with a pure and simple love made for His pleasure and Glory!

Even when the world around me may try to disregard my truth
or the times that I have allowed outward lies to cling to me…
the Lord just melts away those hurts and hard places by the light of His Presence.
For He sees that I am robed in the righteousness of Christ
and that I am beautiful.

May it be our desire that we be women who live in the present and are aware of the world around us. May we take notice of the blessings God gifts to each of us, and always long to hear His whispers. Shall we also pray with a more purposeful focus on God’s will? And as we stay connected in our relationship with Christ, we will become more thankful followers. Let us commit to doing this together! Close your eyes…Open your heart, let God’s Spirit empower you today.
