The Victorious Life Is Ours To Claim!
Many of you have come to visit my website during its first year and shared in the blessings of God’s amazing faithfulness. Some of the devotions have been sweet or funny, and others have been deep and even convicting. I’ve tried to share my daily experiences with each of you in mind; knowing you probably walk the same roads, have some of the same questions, fears, and disappointments, but most of all, the same praises to our Lord Jesus Christ!
This new year I’ve decided to journey a different direction with my website. You’ll still be able to go into the archives and pull up the poetry and devotions, but now we’ll travel a different road. I hope you continue to allow the Holy Spirit to speak into you as we take this new venture together throughout the Old Testament scriptures.
As Christians we should be the most hope-filled people experiencing radical faith in Jesus, but more often than not, many of my Christian friends admit feeling far away from God's presence. As we probe deeper into plausible reasons behind their frank admissions, a basic trust issue is always uncovered.
How does someone who gave their heart to the Lord find themselves questioning God's goodness, power, or even His willingness to intervene in their life? What happens from that initial moment when we surrendered our will to follow after Jesus to now finding it’s a dry place of distrust?

I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to seek out what others throughout scripture might have felt as they faced their own trials. I did this to see how God brought them through. Perhaps they had times of fear, times of protest, or regrettable decisions. Perhaps they were perplexed over circumstances or battling with unbelief. In each scenario, one might have thought they were alone or felt the situation was impossible. I wanted to take an up-close look to illuminate God’s superior control, concern, and care for not only those in past circumstances, but for us to trust in today. I hope that we’re encouraged by these stories from those who’ve gone before us.

Although God may not have “seemed visible” at the time, He was in fact, turning a bad predicament into a better one. He ordains each circumstance in order to bring about personal growth, to change the heart of a nation, or to simply challenge our faith. In all cases, He was always present, involved, and in control. We can trust He still is today and will be tomorrow!
On this website, I’ve chosen to share one example from each book of the Old Testament. I’ve given the verse for each situation in which I will expound on its application to our daily lives, but I suggest that you read the full chapter for more details about the facts that have led up to each example.

I pray these applications will encourage you to know, embrace, and walk out with radical faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember always, it’s our act of being faithful that pleases our Lord. No matter the length of time each of us is given to live upon this earth… this is the only opportunity we have to allow the testing of our faith. So work it out, build it up, and know that the Lord is by our side supporting us!
I pray you'll be drawn closer to the heart of our Lord. See and taste the goodness of His love for us. May we live a life victoriously giving Jesus the glory that belongs to Him!
